why not be real bastards?

yesterday, while i was hanging around with the palestinians near the nescafe cafe, slurping our cups of the coffee, one of the brothers asked me,"what's the meaning of jangan lan**p hari2? i asked a malay brother to tell me a simple greeting so that i can greet other malays, and he told me this. but, when i say this brothers, they laughed, and when i 'greet' the sisters, they turned away. i know jangan and hari2, but what is lan**p?"

the same story i've heard from a friend not so long ago, when he asked a malay brother how to say good morning in malay, and the answer was pu*imak. then he kept saying this thing until he taught himself that good morning is selamat pagi.

sigh. can i call them [the teachers] bastards?

1. it's their first year, so not going to bm class is ok
2. they don't teach lan**p and puk*mak in class.
